Arbor Health welcomes Foot and Ankle Surgeon Garrett Peresko, DPM, to the medical staff. He comes to us from Swedish Medical Center in Seattle, where he has been completing his three-year residency. A native of a rural town in Oklahoma, he attended Oklahoma State University, receiving multiple degrees—biology major and microbiology minor as well as a business administration degree from a junior college—before moving on to medical school in Los Angeles.
His following three-year medical residency has been with what he considers to be two of the best programs in the country—West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh, where he was chief resident, and Swedish Medical Center in Seattle. He is an active researcher and a prolific author, having published upward of six papers this year. He is also anticipating a textbook chapter that he authored coming out very soon.
Dr. Peresko will be seeing patients in Arbor Health, Morton Clinic. His medical practice will cover all podiatric and surgical podiatric needs, such as routine nail care; diabetic foot and wound care; treatment for bunions, hammertoes, ankle and heel pain; and trauma and reconstructive lower extremity surgery.
While Morton Hospital has had visiting podiatrists in years past, Dr. Peresko is our first full-time specialist. "This is a great addition to our medical staff," CEO Leianne Everett says. "We are very happy to bring this medical service to our patients."
"I’m looking forward to serving the district and community and giving much-needed foot and ankle care without people having to travel great distances for it," says Dr. Peresko.
