Back to Fall 2021At Arbor Health, It's All About You

Our Vision Statement for this organization is "To provide accessible, quality healthcare" to our community. These are the words we live by. We are focused on bringing the services you need to East Lewis County. For that reason, we have made major investments in diagnostic imaging. Not only do we have the only 3 dimensional Digital Mammography in Lewis County, we recently installed the latest-in-technology CT scanner and equally impressive digital x-ray equipment. These complement our existing MRI, ultrasound, echocardiogram and nuclear medicine services.
We are also focused on recruiting specialists to our facilities to relieve you of the expense and travel time of seeking services out of the area. For the first time, we have a full-time podiatry surgeon on staff. While we have had visiting podiatrists, they only saw clinic patients here; the patients had to go elsewhere for surgery.
Likewise, while we have had visiting orthopedic specialists see clinic patients, they didn’t do surgical procedures here. We now have orthopedic surgeon Robert Williams, MD, on staff part time who conducts a variety of orthopedic surgeries and procedures at Morton Hospital.
Higher Standards
While these advancements meet the "accessible" aspect of our Vision Statement, we are equally focused on the "quality" aspect. With this in mind, we took on the monumental task of achieving accreditation for specific services and the hospital overall. Many hospitals never attempt accreditation because of the increased expense and managerial workload. However, it is important to us, as accreditation is the outward evidence of quality care.
I am pleased to announce that our Sleep Center became accredited in October 2020, our Emergency Department achieved accreditation for Stroke-Patient Readiness in February 2021, and Morton Hospital received overall accreditation in July 2021. Now we are turning our attention toward meeting the ISO 9001 Standards, which is the most widely recognized quality management system.
We’re getting there. We have to—because at Arbor Health, it’s all about you.
