Description:
The Patient Care Services Manager is responsible for planning, organizing and directing the overall operations of Nursing, Acute, Emergency, Skilled and Surgical Services. Ensures compliance with patient care quality standards as it relates to the care provided in all related areas. Maintains performance improvement activities within the department and participates in QI activities. Assures competency of all nursing personnel. Assists in formulating the budget and maintains efficient and effective departmental operations while required compliance with all state, federal, and local regulations laws, standards, and protocols. In the absence of the CNO this position is a key member of the Management Team.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters of Nursing Preferred
- Current license to practice as RN in the State of Washington. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification or must be obtained within 30 days of hire through American Heart Association (AHA) or equivalent organization. ACLS & PALS recommended within six (6) months of hire.
- 10 years of RN experience in an acute care/Critical access hospital.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Supervises and coordinates the activities of nursing personnel and delegates authority to provide for maximum utilization of skills an abilities of personnel.
- Shows support of hospital administration
- Responsible for accurate Kronos timekeeping
- Interprets and ensures conformance of hospital policies and regulations to staff, patients and visitors
- Conducts performance evaluations and disciplinary actions as necessary with appropriate follow through
- Interviews and selects appropriate staff
- Attends 1:1 meeting with CNO/CQO
- Attends and participates in hospital committee meetings
- Collaborates with instruction, teaching and training of personnel in the proper use of equipment, instruments, procedures and techniques. Participates in the successful orientations of new employees.
- Meets the demand of the units, including direct patient care when necessary
- Coordinates with providers and nursing for the acquisitions of necessary professional supplies and equipment
- Provides leadership and exemplary role model for nursing
- Adheres to organizational relationships with other departments and maintains a smooth relationship coworkers, physicians and Administration.
- Plans for, develops and effectively manages departmental charges and budgets.
- Set departmental goals, PI's and helps with strategic plan for the hospital as set forth by the Board of Directors.
- Updates, revises and writes new policies as necessary on a timely basis.
- Maintain a balance of skill mix and years of experience to care various types of patients.
- Participates in policy decisions that affect Nursing in the hospital.
- In slower times assure staff is busy checking out-dates, cleaning and organization.
- Follow low census guidelines as set forth in the union to reduce overtime.
- This position will be responsible for managing two (2) Rural Healthcare Clinics.

Salary Range:
Hourly Rate Min- $63.59 Max - $83.94/hr Starting pay will DOE
