Mammography Tech (Per Diem)

Description:

This position is responsible for performing diagnostic mammographic procedures and patient safety protocols and the successful accomplishment of their mammogram. Participates in quality improvement activities.

Minimum qualifications:

High school graduate or equivalent preferred, Graduation from Radiologic Technology Program.
Washington State Department of Health Radiologic Technologist license, ARRT registry in Mammography
One year practical experience, preferred.

Primary Responsibilities:

Responsible for the care and safety of patients undergoing treatment and use of equipment to minimize hazards of electric shock, burns and extraneous radiation to patients.
Able to assess patient pain interfering with imaging procedure- makes appropriate physician contact for intervention. Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
Responsible for the safe handling of equipment.
Keeps procedure room clean and neat, makes minor equipment adjustments as needed.
Assists in maintaining records and reports.
Interacts professionally with patient/family.
Follows guidelines as established at time of assignment.
Accepts assignments willingly.
Prioritizes workload to assure completion of assignments.
Asks appropriate clarifying questions relative to scope of assignment.
Provides status reports to supervisor on assignments.
Preforms other related duties as assigned.

*This position receives an additional $1.50/hour on the base, for multiple modalities (ex. Xray & Mammo)

Additional 15% (on base wage) in lieu of benefits and Paid Sick Leave accrual (.025/hr)

Salary Range:

This is a union position on the union wage scale (24 steps) and the selected candidate will be placed on the wage scale at the years of experience per the contract. Step 1: $36.47/hr (+$1.50 if 2 modalities), Step 12: $44.74/hr (+$1.50 if 2 modalities) Step 24: $56.07/hr (+$1.50 if 2 modalities))
