Dear Arbor Health community
Dear Arbor Health community,
It was with great excitement that my wife and I relocated to the community in August. As I settle in as the new CEO of Arbor Health, my initial impressions of the community and the Arbor Health team have been confirmed—this is a great place to live and work!
The dedication of the hospital district commissioners and staff to live up to our mission—to foster trust and nurture a healthy community—is noteworthy. I am honored to join such a remarkable team.
Three areas of focus have served as guideposts in my health care career: People. Quality. Finance. With these three areas in balance, we can foster a strong, resilient health care organization that can continue to grow and develop the services we provide to our community.
As we enter into 2026, Arbor Health will be developing a new strategic plan as a road map to our future. Gathering input from our internal stakeholders—district commissioners, medical staff, leaders and employees—and from our external stakeholders—community leaders, service organizations and citizens—will be crucial to creating focused and achievable goals.
Health care is a complex industry, with many regulatory requirements and challenges. As we navigate this landscape, especially with upcoming changes to the Medicaid program, I echo the commitment voiced by our Chief Medical Officer, Kevin McCurry, MD: "Thank you for trusting Arbor Health with your care. We are honored to serve you and will continue to stand by you during these uncertain times. We are one team with one mission, and that is to care for you like crazy." Arbor Health remains committed to providing accessible, quality health care to all who need it. We love what we do, and we do it to the best of our abilities each day. Thank you for trusting us with your health care needs.
Very best regards,
Eric "Max" Neal, CEO, Arbor Health
