New and noteworthy in 2025
Primary care clinics
- Increased chronic care management patients from 12 in 2024 to 111 in 2025.
- Held drive-thru flu vaccine events in Packwood, Randle, Morton and Mossyrock.
- Held Safe Kids summer event at Morton Elementary.
- Partnered with Arbor Health Foundation to provide sports physicals at White Pass, Morton and Mossyrock high schools.
- Participated in the Washington State Medical Assistant Apprenticeship program to provide hands-on clinical training, completing one and starting six more apprenticeships.
Diagnostic imaging
- Implemented bone density studies.
- Entered a partnership with Tacoma Community College for clinical x-ray experience for students.
- Increased mammography services from four days a week to five.
- Increased MRI services from two days a week to three.
Arbor Health Foundation
- Provided $17,000 in employee scholarships.
- Provided $82,097 in equipment purchases and employee-program and community support.
- Created the Youth Health Education Fund of $15,000 to inspire high school students to work in health care.

Patient Access Department
- Morton Hospital front desk and Emergency Department admitting staff registered over 21,000 encounters and took in over $85,000 in up-front collections, a 163% increase compared with 2024.
- Radiology scheduling staff set more than 4,000 appointments.
- Rehabilitation authorization personnel completed over 800 referrals.
Health Information
- Management Department
- Processed over 3,000 medical record release requests for patients.
- Coded over 50,000 encounters, with a total accuracy rate of 98.33%.
Facilities and engineering
- Repaired and resurfaced a large sinkhole in front of the hospital.
- Resurfaced the Randle Clinic ramp entrance.
- Replaced two rooftop HVAC units.
- Resurfaced the west parking lot.
- Replaced the kitchen hood fire suppression system.

- Installed new operating room lights.
- Installed a new instrument washer in the Central Sterilization Department.
- Purchased a new Dietary Department grill.
- Purchased ultrasound equipment for the Emergency Department.
Patient care
- Purchased recliners for added comfort for inpatients.
- Expanded Wound Care Clinic hours.
- Purchased comfort furniture for palliative care patients' family members.
- Created a new patient menu system for meal choices.
Rehabilitation services
- In partnership with Arbor Health Foundation, installed the Solo-Step Overhead Track System for patient safety during physical therapy.
- Reinitiated Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES) in our Speech-Language Pathology Department.
- Achieved additional advanced certifications among staff.
Community wellness
- Conducted three free Lunch & Learn events:
- Alzheimer's and Dementia.
- Navigating Medicare, Medicaid & Post-Acute Care (in partnership with Cornerstone Insurance).
- Living Long and Living Great.
- Arbor Health Joy in the Journey 5K and Health Fair.
- Random Acts of Kindness campaign.
