2025 highlights

Staffing and leadership

  • Welcomed our new CEO, Eric "Max" Neal, in August.
  • Hired Janice Pendergast as Laboratory Services Department Manager and Kim Pederson as Quality Director.
  • Promoted Carey Young to Director of Nursing.
  • Promoted registered nurse Colleen Littlejohn to Assistant Chief Nursing Officer (ACNO) as part of the current
  • CNO's retirement succession plan.
  • Promoted registered nurses Cindy Farley and Amy Horejsi to acute care and operating room coordinators, respectively.
  • Recruited enough new nurses to reduce traveling nurses from 15 to 5.

Quality and certification

  • Radiology Department:
    • Completed a successful MQSA (Mammography Quality Standards Act) survey.
    • Completed a successful Washington State Department of Health CT and x-ray inspection.
  • Hospital medical laboratory:
    • Updated and renewed all CLIA Medical Test Site licenses.
    • Implemented reticulocyte count testing.

Awards

  • Arbor Health–Morton Hospital Physical Therapy won the five-star Award for Excellence in Healthcare from PRC.
  • Arbor Health–Morton Hospital Emergency Department won the four-star Award for Excellence in Healthcare from PRC.
  • Rapid Care Clinic won The Chronicle's Best of Lewis County first place award in the urgent care category.
  • Arbor Health won first place in KMNT's Listeners' Choice Award for Hospital, Place to Work, Physical Therapy and Urgent Care.
  • Received the 2025 Critical Access Hospital Achievement of Quality Healthcare Gold Award from the Washington State Hospital Association.
