Randle Fire Chief appointed to Trauma Committee

RANDLE, Wash. –Jeff Jaques, Randle Fire Chief and emergency medical technician, was appointed to represent East Lewis County’s emergency medical services on the Arbor Health Stroke and Trauma Committee. Jaques has been with Lewis County Fire Protection District No. 14 since February 1996.

The Stroke and Trauma Committee, comprised of select representatives from clinical departments, meets twice a quarter. The purpose of the committee is to monitor all complication rates and overall outcomes of trauma and stroke patients seen at Arbor Health—Morton Hospital.

The clinical department representatives includes Morton Hospital’s stroke/trauma medical director and coordinator, inpatient/emergency department director, trauma surgeon, chief nursing and quality officer and employee clinical educator as well as representatives from diagnostic imaging, quality department, laboratory, pharmacy, and anesthesia.

“Chief Jaques is a great addition to this committee,” Chief Nursing and Quality Officer Sara Williamson said. “His participation will greatly aid collaborative communication between Arbor Health and our area’s EMS to further improve the health and well-being of our community. We were very pleased when he accepted the position.”
