Arbor Health welcomes new bilingual physician

Hospital news | Thursday, July 7, 2022

Fabiola Puga, M.D., has lived many places in the world—ranging from Guadalajara, Mexico; to Cambridge, England; to New York City; to our own Yakima, Washington. And soon, very soon, she’ll be in East Lewis County, serving as Arbor Health’s newest physician.

Dr. Puga is currently completing her three-year Family Medicine residency in Tallahassee, Florida—the final step in achieving her goal of becoming a family medicine doctor. She’s worked hard for it and is excited to become a part of the East Lewis County Community and the Arbor Health medical staff.

Dr. Puga was born and raised for much of her childhood in Guadalajara. However, she went through sixth grade in Yakima where she has family and completed high school in Cambridge. It is her wish to live near her Yakima family that is bringing her to East Lewis County.

Dr. Puga is ready to get to work. “I can't wait to meet the community and start providing my services,” she said. “I went into medicine because of my love for science and my passion to help people. The reason I went into family practice is because you get to do it all. I love all patient populations, but I am particularly keen on women's health, elderly care, prevention of diseases and wound care. I also have a particular passion for helping Spanish speaking patients, since I am aware of the relief patients find when they can communicate in detail their discomforts.”

Dr. Puga will be working out of the Morton Clinic office and Morton Hospital. We are excited to welcome her to the staff!
